Reflecting on the event during her closing remarks, MGTO Director Maria Helena De Senna Fernandes noted that over the years, the Forum has successfully united decision-makers, industry drivers, and sector leaders from across the global tourism economy. She emphasized that the event has consistently fostered experience-sharing and pragmatic cooperation across borders and industries, evolving into an essential international platform for building consensus and shaping future trends.

Furthermore, Senna Fernandes pointed out that Macao not only leverages the unique structural advantages afforded by the backing of the central government and its extensive global connectivity, but also actively shares its own successful trajectory in urban modernization. By working hand in hand with international partners, Macao continues to help chart innovative and sustainable pathways forward for the worldwide tourism economy.

"One message today is clear: going green is not a burden, but a scalable opportunity that resonates with young travellers and keeps value within local communities," Ho stated.

Looking forward to future editions, Ho welcomed Hainan Province’s expressed interest in hosting the next installment of the Forum. Elaborating on this prospective partnership, she remarked that gathering in Hainan invites the industry to return to its original aspiration, or chuxin, by fully embracing Green and Blue Tourism. She challenged attendees to consider whether the industry can establish a model for trace-free, preservation-first tourism that enhances natural environments without destroying their core essence, avoiding a cycle of disrupting nature only to repair it later.

Speaking on behalf of Hainan Province, Executive Vice Governor Bateer expressed enthusiasm for the province’s upcoming role and its alignment with Macao. He stated that Hainan looks forward to utilizing Macao’s established position as a global bridge to deepen international cooperation in areas such as reciprocal tourism exchanges, synchronized industry development, and cultural tourism innovation. Hainan, he added, sincerely hopes to collaborate closely with the Forum’s organizing units, the Macao SAR Government, and stakeholders from all sectors to implement the valuable outcomes generated during the event. This collaboration aims to facilitate the successful hosting of the GTEF in Hainan in 2027 while promoting synergistic growth between Hainan as an International Tourism and Consumption Center and Macao as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, ultimately driving broad economic vitality and mutual benefit.
