BWH Hotels Transforms into WorldHotels in Major Global Rebranding, Unveils Streamlined Loyalty Program and Upgraded Digital Experience

In a strategic move designed to meet the evolving demands of modern global travelers who increasingly seek simplicity, authenticity, and immersive local experiences, BWH Hotels officially announced a sweeping consolidation and rebranding of its global portfolio. Effective October 27, 2026, the organization transitioned from BWH Hotels to become WorldHotels, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history and setting the stage for a modernized, unified international hospitality offering.

Far more than a simple cosmetic change, industry observers note that this transformation represents a natural and necessary business evolution for the brand. The refreshed global identity has been meticulously crafted to better reflect the remarkable breadth, diversity, and consumer appeal of a portfolio that spans dozens of countries and caters to a wide spectrum of travel occasions, from budget-conscious journeys to ultra-luxury escapes.

Larry Cuculic, president and chief executive officer of WorldHotels, emphasized the strategic rationale behind the consolidation during the announcement. He pointed out that while the company has traditionally offered accommodations suited for virtually every conceivable travel occasion, consumer awareness was often fragmented, with many travelers only familiar with a isolated portion of the extensive portfolio.

"WorldHotels gives us a clearer way to tell our story," Cuculic stated, explaining how the transition connects the overarching enterprise. "By connecting our brands, loyalty program, and digital capabilities together under one masterbrand, we’re making it easier for travelers to understand who we are today, while enabling our hoteliers to better compete on a global scale and preserving the independence and individuality of our 4,000 hotels."

Following this comprehensive, organization-wide transformation, the restructured WorldHotels portfolio now encompasses three primary hotel companies: WorldHotels, Best Western Hotels & Resorts, and SureStay Hotels. Together, these entities represent an impressive footprint of 18 distinct brands and over 4,000 properties situated in more than 100 countries across the globe.

Within this unified structure, the trusted Best Western brand will continue to serve as a core pillar of the WorldHotels portfolio, maintaining its reputation for reliability, comfort, and value. Meanwhile, upscale and luxury properties within the ecosystem are being brought together under the overarching WorldHotels Collection umbrella. This collection is specifically designed to curate properties that offer unique perspectives and authentic experiences deeply rooted in local culture, thoughtful architectural and interior design, and exceptionally high standards of service.

To better articulate this upscale and luxury positioning to the market, the WorldHotels Collection has been divided into six distinct categories: WorldHotels Luxury, WorldHotels Elite, WorldHotels Distinctive, WorldHotels Crafted, WorldHotels Backdrop, and WorldHotels Residences. Each category targets specific traveler preferences, ensuring that guests seeking a refined urban escape, a boutique cultural experience, or a design-forward retreat can easily identify the right property for their needs.

Among these specialized categories, WorldHotels Residences extends the brand’s signature hospitality into the realm of luxury residential living, catering to long-term residents and discerning buyers seeking branded living spaces. Additionally, WorldHotels Backdrop features handpicked properties situated in immersive natural settings, pairing breathtaking landscapes with elevated accommodations designed to harmonize with their environments.

Loyalty Rewards, Simplified

As part of the comprehensive brand refresh, WorldHotels is also introducing a major overhaul to its loyalty ecosystem aimed at removing friction from the travel experience. The company is consolidating its two existing loyalty initiatives, Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards, into a single, highly streamlined program that instantly unites approximately 70 million existing members under one unified banner.

Scheduled to officially roll out on January 5, 2027, the revamped loyalty framework has been designed to make earning and redeeming points significantly more intuitive. The modernized program will feature three streamlined membership tiers while safeguarding vital existing benefits that members have come to rely on, such as seamless status matching, exclusive member-only rates, and points that never expire.

With more than 4,000 participating locations spanning the globe, loyalty program participants will gain unprecedented access to enhanced rates and valuable perks across the entire consolidated portfolio. Existing members will retain the full value of their current points balance while unlocking new, expanded opportunities to accumulate points through a more connected and transparent global network.

Joelle Park, chief marketing officer of WorldHotels, highlighted that the redesign of the loyalty program was heavily influenced by direct consumer insights and member feedback. She explained that extensive research underscored a clear consumer demand for a rewards initiative that feels straightforward, transparent, and capable of recognizing loyal guests no matter where their travels take them.

"WorldHotels Rewards was designed with our guests at the heart of every decision," Park noted. "Through extensive consumer research and member feedback, we learned that travelers want a loyalty program that feels intuitive and transparent, that recognizes them wherever they travel. By bringing our loyalty program together under WorldHotels Rewards, we’re making it easier for guests to discover the full breadth of our portfolio, find the right hotel for every journey, and feel welcomed wherever they stay."

Company executives confirmed that additional comprehensive details regarding the new loyalty structure and tier requirements will be officially announced on November 16, giving members further insight into how they can maximize the benefits of the transition.

Complementing the loyalty program overhaul, WorldHotels has also invested significantly in upgrading its foundational digital infrastructure. A newly unified website and a completely redesigned mobile application are slated to launch in January, serving as digital hubs for the refreshed brand. Through these upgraded digital touchpoints, guests will be able to easily browse exclusive promotional offers, seamlessly book stays, manage their rewards accounts, and discover curated local experiences tailored to their specific destinations.

By marrying a simplified brand architecture, a consolidated global loyalty program, and modern digital platforms, WorldHotels aims to position its network of independent hoteliers for sustained success in an increasingly competitive global travel marketplace while offering today’s discerning guests a more cohesive and rewarding hospitality experience.
