Capella Hotel Group Announces Flagship Dubai Debut Set for 2030 on the Dubai Peninsula

Capella Hotel Group has officially announced that it is bringing its celebrated brand of ultra-luxury hospitality to the United Arab Emirates with the planned opening of Capella Dubai in 2030. Situated on the exclusive Dubai Peninsula, the new property represents a major strategic milestone for the hotel group as it continues its measured expansion beyond its traditional strongholds in the Asia-Pacific region into the Middle East and Europe.

Developed in partnership with H&H and designed by the globally renowned architecture and design firm Denniston, the 115-key luxury hotel is poised to introduce a distinctly intimate and culture-driven approach to the bustling Dubai hospitality market. The property will feature a carefully curated collection of guest rooms and suites, many of which will include private pools, culminating in an expansive 600-square-metre Capella Suite designed to evoke a sophisticated, residential-style retreat.

A Landmark Waterfront Setting at the Dubai Peninsula

Capella Dubai will find its home along one of Jumeirah’s most coveted shorelines, precisely where the historic Dubai Water Canal meets the azure expanse of the Arabian Sea. The hotel is situated within the Dubai Peninsula, an ambitious 210-acre waterfront master development spearheaded by H&H. Conceived as a pioneering, design-forward destination, the master plan seamlessly integrates world-class hospitality brands with exceptional private residences, fine dining establishments, upscale retail, a state-of-the-art superyacht marina, a kilometre of private beach, and over two million square feet of lush botanical gardens and central park spaces.

Despite the grand scale of the surrounding destination, Capella Dubai has been purposefully designed to offer an intimate, highly personalized sanctuary. Rather than focusing solely on architectural scale, the project emphasizes a deep connection between the visitor and the local surroundings. The architectural and landscape vision, shaped by Denniston, ensures that hospitality, structural design, and the natural environment function as a cohesive whole from the very outset of the development process.

Immersive Guest Experiences and Signature Service

At the core of the Capella ethos is a philosophy of connecting guests more deeply with the destination they are visiting. At Capella Dubai, this mission will be brought to life through the brand’s signature service hallmarks: the Capella Culturists and the proprietary Capella Curates cultural programming.

The heart of the hotel will be The Living Room, a signature sanctuary where Capella Culturists are stationed. Moving beyond the traditional concierge model, these dedicated professionals take the time to understand each guest on a personal level. Drawing upon their intimate knowledge of Dubai, its hidden neighbourhoods, its creative communities, and its rich heritage, the Culturists will tailor bespoke itineraries from pre-arrival through departure. They serve as the gateway to Capella Curates—exclusive, curated encounters designed to reveal the city through its people, places, and stories in a manner that independent travellers rarely experience on their own.

Culinary Excellence and Waterfront Social Spaces

Dining and social engagement will play a central role in the daily life of Capella Dubai. Five distinct venues will activate the property’s waterfront setting, ranging from the welcoming atmosphere of the lobby lounge and The Living Room to a sophisticated signature restaurant.

Elevated high above the city, the hotel’s rooftop will serve as a dramatic destination for evening gatherings and dining against the panoramic backdrop of the Dubai skyline, housing a specialty restaurant and a chic destination bar. For daytime leisure, a nearly 70-metre rooftop pool will offer a tranquil haven featuring single and double cabanas designed for unhurried relaxation above the urban landscape. At beach level, families will be well-catered to with a dedicated family pool alongside Little Stars, the brand’s specialized children’s club designed to engage younger guests.

Holistic Wellness and Versatile Event Spaces

Prioritizing physical and mental rejuvenation, Capella Wellness will deliver a comprehensive, holistic approach to wellbeing. The facility encompasses the signature Auriga Spa, a fully equipped Fitness Centre, a Mind Body Studio, and an outdoor fitness area that fosters a natural bridge between physical movement and the outdoors.

Inspired by the restorative rhythms of the moon, the Auriga Spa will feature dedicated male and female treatment rooms, a co-ed suite, and a VIP suite. Additional wellness amenities include a traditional hammam, a hydrotherapy circuit pool, two advanced biohacking facilities, and professional grooming services, all supported by tranquil relaxation lounges for quiet contemplation before and after treatments.

For social celebrations, corporate functions, and milestone gatherings, Capella Dubai will provide an array of sophisticated event venues. These include a spacious ballroom complete with a pre-function lounge, two versatile meeting rooms, a private VIP Majlis, and an outdoor event lawn, offering elegant settings tailored for occasions of every scale.

Leadership Perspectives on a Strategic Expansion

Discussing the significance of the upcoming launch, Roland Fasel, President of Capella Hotel Group, highlighted the strategic importance of the Middle East in the brand’s global growth trajectory.

"As Capella grows beyond Asia Pacific into the Middle East and Europe, we are entering an important new chapter for the brand," said Fasel. "The Middle East shares our appreciation for craftsmanship, culture, and exceptional service, making it a natural home for Capella. Capella has always been deliberately selective about where it goes, choosing destinations where we believe we can create something meaningful and distinctive."

Fasel emphasized the foundational partnership with H&H at the Dubai Peninsula. "They share our vision for the intimate, highly personalised experience Capella is known for, one that connects guests more deeply with Dubai, its culture, and its people. With the opening of Capella Dubai in 2030, we will further establish our presence in one of the region’s most compelling cities, while remaining true to the hospitality that defines Capella."

Echoing these sentiments, Shahab Lutfi, Chairman of H&H, underscored how the hotel complements the broader vision of the Dubai Peninsula master development.

"Dubai Peninsula is conceived as a destination with a distinct identity, bringing together some of the world’s most renowned hospitality brands, exceptional residences, and a unique waterfront setting," Lutfi noted. "Capella brings a different dimension to this vision through its intimate, highly personalised approach to hospitality. We see a strong alignment between Capella’s emphasis on individual experiences and sense of place and our ambition to create a destination that offers more than exceptional design and location."

Lutfi added that working alongside Denniston has allowed the development team to harmonize architecture, landscape, and hospitality from day one. "For us, the strength of Dubai Peninsula lies in the way its different elements come together, from its shoreline and central park to its collection of hospitality and residential offerings. Capella’s distinctive character will be an important part of that mix, shaping a destination that feels considered, cohesive, and different."
