HB Festival Portugal successfully welcomed around 6,000 music enthusiasts to its fourth annual edition, held from September 18 to 19, bringing two vibrant days of house, Afro, organic, and minimal sounds to a stunning beachfront setting in Costa da Caparica, situated just south of Lisbon.
Constructed directly on the golden sands of the Atlantic coastline, this year’s edition offered attendees a distinctly immersive festival experience that combined a carefully curated musical program with the relaxed, sun-drenched pace of Portugal’s western shore. Over the course of the weekend, guests enjoyed a comprehensive lineup of events that included two main beach parties, two exclusive after-parties, and a vibrant closing session featuring artists directly from the DHB Records family. In total, more than 20 acclaimed international and local artists performed across five distinct events, transforming the picturesque coastal landscape into an open-air dance music haven.
The musical journey commenced on Friday with a groove-led program designed to set an energetic yet sophisticated tone for the weekend. Among the standout performers on the opening day were Beltran, acclaimed selector Carlita, and UK tech-house favourite Josh Baker. They were joined by a talented roster of supporting acts, including Oxhalé, Mehdi, Rafael, and Rome, who collectively delivered infectious rhythms and driving basslines that resonated across the Atlantic breeze as day turned to evening.
As the weekend progressed into Saturday, the sonic landscape shifted smoothly toward the deeper, more hypnotic realms of Afro, organic, and minimal sounds. The second day was anchored by a formidable trio of headliners featuring pioneering cult figure Luciano, the melodic and immersive sounds of Bedouin, and electronic music tastemaker Ahmed Spins. This heavyweight bill was further elevated by compelling performances from Rooléh, Saraga, and Portugal’s own Just Kelly, showcasing the rich depth and diversity of contemporary electronic music culture.

The festival’s location proved to be central to the overall attendee experience, functioning as far more than just a backdrop. With the entire production built directly on the beach, the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean provided a natural, breathtaking visual frame for the crowds throughout the weekend. Two picturesque sunsets marked the natural conclusion of each festival day, creating unforgettable moments where music and nature converged seamlessly.
Beyond the main performance areas, the festival site was thoughtfully designed to offer a variety of spaces away from the dancefloor, ensuring a comfortable and holistic environment for everyone in attendance. Guests could explore a bustling food court featuring diverse culinary options, a dedicated shop area, wellness services including professional tattoo and massage stations, and tranquil chill-out zones designed for relaxation and socializing between sets.
The resulting atmosphere was an intimate, open-air gathering that successfully brought together cutting-edge electronic music, the breathtaking Portuguese coastline, and a comprehensive lifestyle experience. Crucially, the production managed to achieve this without losing the close-knit, community-driven atmosphere that has steadily become an essential part of the identity of DHB Portugal.
HB Festival Portugal is proudly presented by As We Are Events, a prominent Lisbon-based creative agency that is widely recognized as the team behind the influential platforms Deep House Bible and DHB Records.
